AER MD1

This model uses a rare neodymium (Neudium) magnet with a 5 mm long air-gap which’s magnetic field is driven into saturation and is absolutely homogeneous in the area of the voice coil. It has a high lateral cut and due to it’s low inner impedance is an excellent conductor of electric current. In the centre-close portion of the air gap all magnetic field-lines are used for the transmission of energy. By means of the short voice-coil in combination with the long voice-coil former an linear excursion of the membrane of more than 2 mm is achieved. It is not getting out of the linear force-field of the magnet this way

This according to the AER Formulae perfectly designed drive unit offers a very balanced frequency response-curve at a high efficiency especially in the range of the highest highs.The AER MD1 is qualified in a ideal manner as a mid-high range unit and also for the use in front-loaded and back-loaded horns (for example like the AER-Acoustic and the AER-Acoustique) in combination with a subwoofer.

By hearing the AER MD1 a balanced and beautiful mid-range is spread that is completed by a beaming as warm as mild high and highest range for up to the ultra sonic. The MD 1B uses a rare neodymium magnet with a smaller lateral cut to get a reduced efficience
The magnetic field is long spread and homogeneous in the whole air-gap. The pole-plates are dimensioned that way that the neodymium magnet is protected against eddy current distortions caused by the voice-coil.
Thanks to the wider air-gap this loudspeaker is able to make excursions of approximately 9 mm also by demanding impulses easily. The MD 1B is purposely designed as a real fullrange-unit for creating sufficient base. Our neodymium magnet by means of the low inner impedance is an excellent electrical conductor and with its very long air-gap a big portion of field-lines is used for the transmission of energy.
The diaphragm of the loudspeaker is able to do excursions of 9 mm without getting out of the power transmission-area of the magnet. This perfectly according to the
AER formulae designed drive-unit achieves a well balanced frequency response-curve especially in the highest highs and has a reduced high efficiency. The high mass of the magnetic construction cares for an extra relaxed sound-stage. (Image of sound state).

The MD 1B is a real fullrange drive-unit. It offers a very strong reproduction of fundamental waves that fully can be made audible in suitable horn enclosures and good back-loaded horns and make obsolete the use of subwoofers.
Building in the
AER-Acoustic and the AER-Acoustique , one gets an increase of the low frequency level below hundred Hertz up to 6 dB. It is apropriate for low level listeners up to hundred dB at two 2 Watts at best.
